  4. Review: The 5th instalment of the definitive vinyl junkie compilation series is the world's first official breaks mix CD.'The Kings Of Diggin' series brings you a selection of rare and classic tracks hand-picked by the top names from the genre in question. Next up, Kon & Amir and DJ Muro blow the dust off some of their favourite hard-to-find.
  5. As such, the work is a very different portrait of US music at the time than you'd hear on a collection from our side of the Atlantic – as London UK grabbed all these unusual, overlooked songs from a variety of labels big and small – and put them out in England for an audience with ears much more tuned towards hipper, more high-quality singles!
  6. The music is wonderful, too – very funky congas and drums, pounding away behind the vocals, with some funky guitar touches too – all at a level that really makes the raw lyrics move. Parental Guidance is highly recommended – but that's also part of the pleasure of the record, too! LP, Vinyl record album.
  7. This is probably the most significant single discography that I have ever compiled. In terms of the sheer number of releases, by such a wide variety of artists, the Kent label has surpassed almost every other label in the history of Soul only have they reissued thousands of tracks, but amongst the singles, LPs, and CDs there are also over a thousand tracks that never saw the light of.
  8. This track, however, features Mr. Ed Green bangin' away on them skins in a funky fashion, as I hope you would expect from me by now. This was previously only on the Mystery Drum Loops page, but now it's here, thanks to homey McClellan and his phat collection of McWax. Very nice beat: especially funky and heavily sampled by the big guys.
